For sure. At the time, it was kind of a reluctant acceptance. It was the first new SW game in 5 years and the first time we got to play as Darth Vader/Luke Skywalker, etc. since 2005 (if ya don't count the first mission of TFU or Soul Caliber IV). I remember just being happy to mow down Rebels as Vader in modern graphics.

But after BF2, it ended up as the most forgettable Triple A SW game.

there were some good things about the game. i liked walker assault - why they ditched that mode for 2 idk why.

the game had krennic and jyn erso, idk why in 2 they werent included. cant really be surprised because its EA, but the stupidity is just mindblowing.

Yeah. I remember the gunplay just being more satisfying. Battlefront 2's can get really mind-numbing quickly. Also the melee attack had more weight behind it. It's pretty useless to use in Battlefront 2.

i loved the walker assault mode. cool how the maps were setup where the empire escorted the walker down the path, and down the path there were structures and areas where the fighting went down. perfect execution.

the hoth walker assault really played out like the battle did in episode 5. rebel team hunkered down in the trenches and in the turrets with the empire side rushing in.

And they did at least add Walker Assault for offline to make up for the lack of "Instant Action."

Even if they thought Walker Assault would be hard to incorporate into the PT and ST eras for 2, both the Republic and First Order used walkers.

The gun play was dope, and the weapon variety was fantastic compared to the second game. Same goes for customisation.

I miss Walker Assault. Used to love playing that on Cloud City, what a gorgeous map

they could have used the at-te and used geonosis, kashyyyk, felucia, etc

they have a similar mode in galactic assault, idk why they didnt just bring the game mode over to add to the 20 v 20 options. those game modes seem to be the most popular along with HvV. i dont think blast or strike gets many players

i think i left the game before the expansions came, which is a shame. ill have to look up a youtube vid on walker assault on cloud city. sounds amazing.

I wish they added it to Instant Action for BF2 They really didn't put Endor, Bespin, Crait, or Starkiller Base for offline IA.

yeah the fact instant action was so empty at launch was such a shame on bf2 at least it had clone wars and resistance era stuff finally but yeah I remember getting both at launch and I never really got into the first ea bf cause I couldn't believe how empty it felt

it was like a demo of a game

needed more progression and content but gameplay wise and graphics they were both good imo

I spent 5 Dollars on that game and still regret it

You were lucky if you ignored Battlefront 2's disastrous launch and got the game around 2019/2020 for a cheaper price.

I had it on Christmas 2017 and, my God, was it a slow, drip-fed trip from 2017-2019 to watch the game evolve lmao

Bf2 may have the most pansy ass community when it comes to competitiveness.

People will quit matches after they are down a couple points on this game all the time and it leads to lob sided matches.

i know some of the galactic assault maps are kind of one sided and unfair, but theres players who are supposedly "good at the game" that quit as soon as they die or if the team starts losing.
