What a film. i really enjoyed this one. normally long movies slow down and dragging to watch but this one wasn't. felt like movie went fast.
That very last scene where matt walk freely and the camera suddenly going up. is there any meaning for that

yea that was what john ford (lynch) was giving advice for about the horizon. "if it's at the top, it's interesting. if it's at the bottom, it's interesting. if it's in the middle, it's boring as s***."
so when we get to that last shot, the camera is focused in a way that the horizon is in the middle at first, so that was Spielberg moving the camera upwards as a way of showing he still remembers what Ford taught him all those years ago.

OMG i actually thought about it first since it was the last convo they had. thought if there might be another reason. damn like i love that they added it at the end. amazing. that was just genius.
thank you for answering.

no problem bro. thought it was a great ending.

Thank you for sharing the video. love hearing those type of stuff.
Just watched since it won best drama
I overall thought it was really good! Beautifully told, and was just an enjoyable story about a boy who loves movies and a dad who sees it as a hobby. Very relatable story.
Didn’t like Paul Dano in this one, thought he fell flat. The mom did great. and the kid who played Sammy did amazing.
Can’t go wrong with Spielberg directing either.
David lynch at the end was great too!
Some of it was corny / cheesy a little for me, especially when with the bully at the end saying “one day I might make a movie about this” lol.
Overall really a 3.5-4/5 Spielberg dad is a cuck
Movie starts falling apart after they move to California
(maybe it was intentional?)
That hallway scene was a mess lmao
Film was dope tho, lots of good things definitely worth a watch
@op Can you update the title? Movie has been out for months on Digital
Anything for you my g
I thought the father was annoying at the beginning with his 'hobby' talk but at the end I wanted him to talk his s*** to these ungrateful b****es!
filmmaking scenes were the best thing about it, and I actually really liked the high school stuff, it was more light-hearted (for the most part) and a breath of fresh air to the bleak family drama stuff
the bully was one of the most overwritten characters i've ever seen
really liked this tho
There’s no way that bully would have that level of introspection
I call bs
There’s parts of this that felt way too neat for me
I looked into all this (loved the movie) and the first half of that scene actually happened the bully confronted Spielberg after the beach day movie, angry and confused about why he made him look so good when he'd been treating him so badly, it was an emotion he couldn't understand, personally I like how the film keeps that as messy and confusing, feels more real, but IRL the bully ran off after tears started to well up in his eyes, the whole longer conversation afterwards was made for the movie
