Day 1
How to have s***was even better on the second watch. Not much more to really say since most on here seen it already
Freaky Tales was wild af. Heavy Tarantino vibes just not executed as good. But still a very entertaining movie. I wasn’t crazy about chapter 2 tho
Seated for this Lolla documentary now and I’m sleepy asl
Freaky tales sounds interesting
Day 2
Love me was dope, real different but real familiar at the same time. The theme was pretty on the nose and speaking of nose, my girl Kristen was a little off that nose candy
Sasquatch Sunset wasn’t for me, I mean it was just Sasquatch roaming around being Sasquatch, some parts were funny, alotta parts were disgusting. Zero dialogue. I don’t think this needed to be a full length.
Heard sasquatch sunset might be explosive cinema

Like explosive s***? And I’m being literal when I say ‘shit’

Ah, so it's a literal s***show. That doesn't sound like it's worth a movie's length tbh

I didn’t think so, and the guys behind me didn’t think so. But it has 100% on RT so far so seems ppl like it so far
Day 3
“Presence” was cool. I really liked the camera work and making the POV from the perspective of the ghost The story could’ve used a little work tho. The vibes of the Q&A kinda got ruined cus some lady was complaining about being triggered. David Koepp (the writer) tried answering her question but she kept shaking her head to the point David had to tell her to stop.
“Exhibiting Forgiveness” prolly my favorite film of the fest thus far. Just straight character study on a nigga tryna handle his daddy issues. My nigga Andre Holland killed this role and the whole cast/crew did a dope Q&A
Still got “Loves lies bleeding” in a couple hours, pretty excited for this one. I really like the trailer and I’m excited to see how more unhinged my girl Kristen finna be on stage
Just got out of love lies bleeding, that s*** was wild. Deff enjoyed it more than Rose Glass first film. I’m not sure how I feel about the climax tho
@twitch did you get to watch Thelma?
@twitch did you get to watch Thelma?
Nah not in person. I’m watching that one online
Day 4 last day in person for 2024
“Good one” this was a random buy for me but it turned out being really good. Starts off pretty funny but then goes sad. Real simple story.
“A different man” this was prolly my favorite of the fest. S*** was right up my alley and had Kaufman vibes. And if I had to compare it to a newer director it has a similar tone to “sick of myself” and “dream scenario”….the third act could’ve been better tho.

Lmk how that one is when you do

damnn you went in person this year
first year since they started online that i didnt buy any tickets cos they screwed me over with the VPN block last year
plus i knew i wouldnt have time cos ive been busy
might try again next year cos im getting massive fomo
after the fest, I would love a long post about your experience with getting tickets, where u stayed, cost, etc
its a dream of mine to go one day but i wouldnt go all that way to another country without a solid plan on how to navigate it

Alright as far as tickets go, I got super lucky with tickets this year. When they went on sale damn near everything was sold out, I basically had to refresh the site every minute of every day to catch when tickets reloaded. It paid off cus I was able to get damn near every movie I wanted. But it is a gamble. And it’s VERY time consuming. Because soon as tickets get reloaded niggas is instantly buying that s***.
I did an Airbnb that was about 10 minutes away from where the theaters are. I believe we paid $1200 for 4 days and 3 nights. BUT the catch is, you gotta book that s*** months in advanced cus housing sells out QUICK.
Transportation I wasn’t the best at lmao I just took a Lyft back and forth everywhere. It was about $25 each trip. Obviously there’s cheaper options with shuttles but I didn’t feel like figuring all that out.
I honestly didn’t do much besides movies, food and bars. Didn’t go skiing or anything. But the overall experience was super fun. Damn near every movie I seen was the premiere so it was a packed theater each time and Q&As at each movie.
Didn’t meet any celebrities but I never cared about that tbh. Was able to do some good networking, they had a lot of free events that was packed. Real good energy, damn near everyone is either in the film industry or a movie nerd.
One thing I noticed is people love talking about “what they do” and the “work they’ve done” and “the awards they’ve won”…had to wait in line for each movie for about an hour to 2 hours each time in a packed tent full of people, so alotta eavesdropping happened and yeah….ppl love talking about themselves lmao.
Lemme know if you have other questions
And I’m getting compliments on all the fits
u gonna have to post in wdyet so we can confirm
