Yeah i've been interested in this, i fe3l like its just bc of covid though, no?
Like obviously the supply chain will collapse with the climate crisis but i feel like the current state of the supply chain isnt indicative of that
This wouldn't really matter to the everyday consumer unless you're a player in the industrial sector

Yeah mostly it is
I work in SCM. Already starting see the effects of disruptions and possible trade wars trickling down. Hope this exposure pushes my salary up more tho
You see north America's largest producer/distributor of tomatoes f***ed up with fermentation? Their entire batch of tomato puree, thousands and thousands and thousands of gallons, all ruined.
Buy your ketchup and spaghetti sauce now!
Shoutout the chip shortage!

SCM = supply chain mgmt? What does that entail? Do you work with particular supply chains or some overall infrastructure that supports supply chains in general? And can you expand on things you've been seeing?
My bad for all the questions, just really interested

Yeah bro. There are a lot of different areas in supply chain but I’m a sourcing specialist meaning I negotiate and create contracts with the suppliers based on the need of my customers. I’m in the thick of things fr. I love my job it’s interesting and no two days are the same. I’ve had contracts as little $5 and as big as multi million dollar deals. Definitely a rewarding field. As far things we’ve been seeing just longer lead times and increases in pricing as raw materials increase so goes everything else. US and China relations also make things complicated because we don’t know what the future looks like within the trade world

ye its a crazy video to watch lol
Yeah almost every supplier we use is having trouble getting us parts when we need them. Simple parts like switches and buttons are taking months, and for stuff like industrial computers the lead time is like a year or more now.
Not to mention by the time I can get my hands on a PS5 the PS6 will probably be set to release
