    What a delay.

Welcome to Everyone who is part of the drop fam. I am late this week, its always a chore putting things together because I want to make it so the download people get something cool. That’s why I’m late, also I was working on another drop and so forth. Oh yea, I have plenty of surprises slowly but surely they will be revealed.

But on this week's edition of SYNTHWORKS:

What you get in the DL LINK:

    bit.ly/2FpCDyE

First EP/2 Lp’s/Some live material off youtube/Soundcloud unreleased non album material, lost hard drive that he aired on Stamp the Wax. Needless to say, It’s a cool bundle of +500 mb of stuff compiled by me. I made it easy as 1,2,3.

    DL LINK:

    bit.ly/2FpCDyE

It’s a deluxe dose of Sven Atterton sounds.

Now if you prefer apple, tidal and Spotify and don’t care about the deluxe drop :

    APPLE:

    music.apple.com/us/artist/sven-atterton/437166067

    TIDAL:

    tidal.com/browse/artist/6418553

    SPOTIFY:

    open.spotify.com/artist/3Biih0QFG7t9CIxPn0IEqV

    Also youtube:

    youtube.com/channel/UCHJLvbhbh1C4G8IUlFfJsdQ

Let’s talk a little bit about this man and his work: Sven started out doing I.D.M. tracks but his roots were in Electro funk especially with the synths of their hey day. Quickly he understood his musical sanctuary. Atterton is quite the talent on the electric bass/programming and of course these luscious synth/keyboard lines. Not bad on rhythm guitar either. I think a lot of people who are notified are going to like “The Cove” lp. His mixing is dj quik level. I can’t even think what his 3rd lp will be like. But like I said

You might like this if you like:
    Dam-Funk
    Rick James
    Prince
    Dazz Band
    Slave
    Devante Swing
    Jimmy Jam
    Dallas Austin
    The Time
    George Duke
    SOS Band
    Cameo
    Zapp
    Loose Ends
    Mtume
    Tuxedo
    Toro Y Moi
    Thundercat
    Kaidi Tatham
    Marc Clive De Lowe
    Sesac
    Battlecat
    Chromeo
    Paul Hardcastle
    Herbie
    Etc

Here’s a sample of the kind of talent I’m talking about:

This man doubles up on the bass and synths so lovely. One thing I love about this guy is the element of musicianship, you don’t even see it coming on this one. But at the 3:00 mark on this track? It’s like he soars right into the stratosphere with no propulsion system detected. THIS is also the kind of s*** I am going to have on my synth work series.

Here’s another moment where we see Atterton in the radio studio plug his bass in and hit a harmonic & play this in the pocket groove over this song by particular artist of a track that’s unreleased. I’ve included some various live sets as well for everyone to jam to. FWD to 12:00 on this segment to hear what I’m referencing:

I love how he improvises and that’s the other thing. His synth/keyboard solo’s are usually different every time when he performs live. He seems to seek that out.

I hope you like this week’s drop and I will have something different next week.

THIS is the kinda s*** that you will see from Synthworks series. I hope to give light to people like this. The next one everyone who knows about this group is going to be like “OHHH S***

OH and one last thing, I will have a drop for Funk R&B Soul this week but it will be postponed to monday. I think it’s a great one but I’m biased. I don’t think most of you have these, tbh. That’s another reason why I think it will be worth your valued time to check out this group. In the meantime, check out this Sven .

Im trying to think of one message board that I’ve been on where someone has put together so much for myself, but the truth is, I can’t think of that person or that message board.
I intend to keep on going & selecting things you wouldn’t think to find on this corner of the web.

For the new people who just stumbled in this thread this evening, welcome. More on the way

    My favorite genre!

For anyone new to Synthworks, allow me to explain it in a few words.

Synthworks is a series created by me to help anyone into the world of synth artists that are unfamiliar or perhaps familiar names to them. There is no genre or timeline to it and it's global.

It could be from any decade. I already have 2 or 3 chosen that I need to work on.

This will be a biweekly series and Im sure you will be surprised by the next entry. Now this person is a keyboard god but he started out being a Hammond B3 God.

I may just make a lead in thread to this artist which opens us to the synth era of this artist.

So many of the keyboard virtuoso's will be covered. Lots of out of print material/international and hopefully I can get these on time for every 2 weeks on Saturdays.

No, it’s always thinking or assembling with me.

I have about 3 other drops almost ready. A new series about to start. That’s going to sound.......

Tomorrow I have one appropriate for approaching end of summer. 😎

Welcome new Fam, bump this in your car home, on a jet ski....😳. We will be covering some boogie funk synth goats 🐐 from the past as well. If they don’t have lp’s, I will get their studio sessions compiled for the fam. 😎

the next Synthworks is crazy. A legendary group that all of us have heard by sound but Perhaps not by name😎

Couldn’t do this series without them. 2 weeks 😭

Until then let me know when you go through this one. 😎

@Prince , you see & hear that man on the bass? I can tell when someone knows the prn catalog. 😭

Yes! His bass capabilities are magnificent, I must admit! They indeed resemble those of Prince, Brown Mark, Levi Seacer, Jr., and Sonny T.! All in all, it’s such a wondrous drop; I’m wholeheartedly thrilled at it!
