I don't think it's a coincidence that Tactics Ogre is getting a rerelease in the lead up to Final Fantasy XVI. It's Yoshi-P's favourite game and a lot of the development staff then went to work on Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, XII, XIV, and now XVI. I wouldn't be surprised if Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story also end up being released on modern systems before XVI drops.

Vagrant Story would be incredible too but yeah, there’s no way they aren’t dropping FFT sooner than later. And I can’t wait would be very down for it to get the HD-2D treatment
