This is still probably my GOTY overall so far, and I’m on the 4th realm

However, I think the story falls into a LOT of bad fantasy racism tropes, like both-sidesing seemingly one-sided conflicts and being a little overly sympathetic to the oppressing class. It’s not nearly as egregious as AoT at this point IMO, but it definitely feels like the Tales team doesn’t have the writing chops to pull off something like that just yet. I haven’t run into anything that I find deeply offensive yet, but the story definitely has been losing steam, in spite of the first two arcs being really well done IMO

the scene on the boat where Alphen talks to Shionne legit made me want to drop my controller lol :snoopsmh: it's still a good game, but some of this writing is just downright terrible
