No demon souls?
maybe play 1 game fool
DS1
classic, no weakpoints anybody saying second half 1) doesnt know what a half is and 2) just dont vibe; has best atmosphere has most iconic and innovative ideas. Best characters and some of the best level design ever created
DS2
ass throw it in the dumbster, has great DLC and definitely feels massive
Poopborne
Strong first half, weak second half, nightmare areas have weak bosses and plagued with gimmicks. Classic DLC 10/10 atmosphere good times, Chalice Dungeons
DS3
front to back solid, feels uninspired, great bosses throughout mixing gimmick with easy and complex. Classic DLC 10/10
Sekiro
Solid front to back, is short, no DLC, has a fast paced super innovative combat system thats insanely fun, 5 incredible bosses but wish there were more
Elden Ring
massive, s***s on Stinky breath of wild, best world, best bosses, fantastic lore, insane leveldesing, torrent is great, Recycled bosses are a non issue since it still has plenty, no DLC (yet), incredible world and easily the most polished combat they made
Good poster horrible post
good?

Also poopborne??? Ban worthy imo
I’ll give my thoughts on DS2 as an OG enjoyer when it dropped in 2014 fresh off of falling in love with DS1.
I think it’s important to note that unfortunately, in my opinion, the version most new fans play is the Scholar of the First Sin version, which I’ve recently played through for the first time, and compared to the original DS2 they made a looooot of poor changes. Ganks we’re definitely a big deal in the original, but no where near the cancerous levels they raised in SOFTS.
What it lost in world interconnectedness I think it made up for in interesting and cool environments. The nature of DS1’s interconnected world meant they were a little more constrained in design choices, but DS2 they snapped. Pirate cove, ancient ruins, bottomless poison pits, lava filled volcano castle, high af mountaintops of the dragons. S*** was a visual spectacle.
PVP was fire because of the build variety and they literally had fighting arenas built into the game instead of impromptu duel arenas.
Adp wasn’t that big of a deal it just raised the ceiling for PVP levels since everyone needed an investment into it. Levels were easy to come by anyways and the game was looooooong.
Disagree with your view of the bosses, tons of new bosses and some amazing fights, especially the looking glass knight who would summon a player to fight you and fighting at the top of a castle in a thunderstorm was iconic af. The pursuer being a recurring boss was a sick addition. Only criticism is that there’s a ton of “knight” bosses.
Covenants!! Soooo many covenants with tons of extra features. The midget bell keepers were raw af, and the rat keepers were fun too. Great ideas to make PvP covenant related beyond just a single PvP covenant. Pilgrims of the dark were a crazy covenant that added depth to the story and a hidden boss that was top tier
Speaking of the pilgrims..hexes were the rawest s*** ever. They were like ER’s death sorceries in that you needed faith/int and since they required a high dual stat investment they had some of the most powerful spells unlike ER where the death sorceries are ass.
Majula is still the GOAT hub and the emerald herald is their best b****. The story of DS2 was cool too because they added some depth and alternate narratives that they dropped in DS3. A bigger focus on the “souls” part rather than the “dark” part lol
Anyways yeah it’s got hella redeemable features
Although i don’t enjoy it to the extend you do it’s always interesting reading these perspectives nice post but thats expected from you king

Nioh 2 is incredible, definitely not just a souls knockoff, i actually think it's better than most of the games FS has made
Nioh 2 is incredible, definitely not just a souls knockoff, i actually think it's better than most of the games FS has made
Totally lacks the atmosphere i love in these games and i get annoyed at how loud the screen gets with all the numbers and stuff lmao i just dont really fw the vibes even though i like Yokai and other traditional japanese creatures
W opinion, Majula really is the best hub
DS3 Firelink Shrine for me
Majula is great but it feels like I'm on vacation in Italy or some s***. I prefer the grim shelter in the storm feel more.

I totally agree with this, the arcade-style numbers and colourful particle effects really cheapen the game's aesthetic

Nah i get you, i like the art design and all but i agree that the game is not as atmospheric as the souls games. Everything else imo is top notch.
