do you think editors explicitly allowing something on a carefully curated website is not at least partially a tacit endorsement? they get thousands of opinion pieces submitted weekly. they don't have to allow articles like this over other ones, but they do, the same way fox news is going to allow right-winger pro-trump stuff over anti-trump editorials. it's still an endorsement of the belief by platforming it. NYT isn't a platform like YT where it's random people uploading stuff, it's an explicit publisher

Who exactly was saying that every single accusation should be taken completely at face value, regardless of lack of evidence or evidence to the contrary?

twitter-verified metropolitan liberal women (and a handful of men) 1-2 years ago, not even joking. they said some wild s***.
i'd usually pass it off as "well it's just outlier voices", except that the NYT (and others. like the New Yorker) actively echoed the voices of these people by publishing their opinion pieces, implicating themselves as also possessing such views.

It's not a Right-Wing Trap, it's a Right-Wing finesse on stupid Democrats and Left leaning folk who were stupid enough to actually trip over themselves trying to believe all accusations are true in order to over correct for treatment of sexual assault victims.

While, not all Dems or Left leaning folk were that stupid, they're going to have to carry that fat L for not checking the people who were in fact that stupid.

Ex: Christie O'Donnell a woman who is alleged of having accused Biden of wiretapping her phone and getting her sued by the FEC literally had her niece accuse Biden of making inappropriate comments at an event Biden wasn't even present at

People didn't even wait to investigate it, they automatically believe it. To make matters worse, when the claim was changed, these people still believed it until it turned out Biden wasn't even in the same state the day of that event.

And yet, I still saw niggas trying to find a way to have this girl be met with an inappropriate claim about her chest, even attributing it to Biden's aide.

These niggas weren't even Republicans or Conservative. These were progressive left leaning people!

These niggas did this to themselves, don't blame Republicans/Right-Wingers

    Also this is an Op-ed

I already echoed this in another post, but for posterity, I know this is an Op-Ed, but the NYT is still amplifying it - I don't see how it's not as much of a tacit endorsement of the belief (even at least partially). Like if Fox News published an Op-Ed from David Duke, sure, it's just an Op-Ed, but they still would have actively decided to platform the person; it was still curated and picked by an editor to slap the NYT logo on. Yes though regardless, I realize this isn't representative of like, every democrat or something (or every writer on the site beyond the collective brand).
For the record, I agree that Reade's claims are not automatically true or a mark against Biden (regardless of my opinion of Biden separately) - it's less about that in my opinion, or even the substance of the claims being true or false, and more about the narrow, pigeon-holed rhetoric that metropolitan-type liberals and media journalists have actively built and affirmed over the past few years, which (to be fair) you do kind of touch on. It really displays just how little many of these people actually believe their rhetoric, and instead how they see rhetoric as a tool for weaponizing people, then cycling out of when it's inconvenient.
