Ebay secondhand sellers are pretty goated too. Got 5 books for $20.

I’ve bought from them a good deal. Pretty reliable, only bad experience I’ve had was buying a copy of Malcolm X’s autobiography. It came with like 150 pages missing right from the middle

iirc amazon isn’t fulfilling the orders, it’s a direct transaction between the participating bookstores and the buyer, with abebooks taking a cut (a subsidiary of amazon)
