OP I feel you. I really do love Jeff in my heart. Been listening to classics since the news came. Most times u hear of someone getting locked it’s just another piece of news, but not this unfortunately. Even more heartbreaking seeing it’s everyone going down too.

    RIP Keed

Thug/YSL situation is as disappointing as it is sad. Hasn’t even been a week and everything about this case has already changed the landscape of Hip Hop. Idk what’s gonna happen when everything is all said and done from this but it’s obviously gonna be a bumpy.

I just hope no more people die

YSL literally transcended to the top from 2019-2021

Future does a terrible job of putting his artists in position

QC started putting all their focus on Baby (who Thug discovered and recommend he sign over there instead of YSL) the city girls, and Duke Deuce after Migos helped them solidify the label

And then there is YSL.. hottest artists, producers, street wear clothing designers, videographers…

This time last year the label was on top of the world (literally)

What a difference one year makes

I think it’s time to ask the question,is street rap being mainstream really a good thing or did all this overexposure get to these dudes heads and make them forget who they really were, for better or worse. A lot of these guys in that lane right now watching what YSL is going through have to feel like their in a inevitable setup right now.

    Great question

Starting to like some kind of benign FBI sting operation

Between all the artists getting locked up and the surplus of deaths maybe it’s time for artists to rethink their disposition before they get in the game

Nothing wrong with being an artistic gangsta but these artists are seemingly really living what they write/rap about and then overexposing themselves on social media

The entire operation seems like a bad equation at the moment

Did you notice Lil Baby took the “4PF” out of his bio after YSL got hit with the RICO?

Why would the local Georgia police watch a perceived “king pin” legitimatize himself between late 2013-2014 and never step in to stop him from becoming even more of a threat to his surroundings?

This is amidst downplaying all the other crimes taking place in the city

Also Young Thug wasn’t always the mainstream success he is present day, and there was never any guarantee he would be become the phenomenon he is today

So why did the authorities feel so comfort and confident they should continue watching him early on, instead of cutting the head off the snake before he could (allegedly) go into terrorize the city for 10 years?

    Makes no f***ing sense

Didn’t know that about Lil Baby but whatever is happening,is happening. I think that last that came out with all these rap labels listed next to known gangs, scared a lot of dudes s***less, whether it was real or not. With all this stuff happening right now,I’m peeping everything different, like how these labels are forcing high musical output from street dudes cause they know their time is limited.

You can’t help but feel that these labels are the Feds cause I’m pretty sure these higher ups have dirt themselves, and the cops basically blackmail them to investigate whoever they want on these labels. No one’s safe in this s***,the industry was always dirty but I think the shiesty activity is at its peak right now.

Wouldn’t be hard for the FBI and DEA to have high level contacts at major record labels

Also need to rethink social media

If it’s not being used for business (I.e.X strictly promoting music) all the lifestyle/personal posts need to stop

Nobody needs to know where you are, who your family is, what you’re wearing and what illegal activity you’re doing

I think everything stems back from him being with Gucci Mane around that time and even though Thug was just on the come up in 2013,that’s how far the cops can trace him back. Then him gaining real traction in 2015 definitely didn’t help his cause. Ima be honest,it’s a good chance YSL did start off as street gang for a while until Thug tried to make into a music label.

But the cops/Feds stuck with the gang label and probably rightfully so,cause even though it was a business,Thug more then likely ran that business like a gang operation.
