i know some of em on twitter who calls them talented but says they need better production. So they don’t fully be hating on em

They're like the last living vessels for a certain hip hop sound that everyone in hip hop loved at a particular time, but it's most def. dated but you can't too much say the message is dated just the sonics, and the sonics alone will cause deaf ears especially if they have no history prior to the sound that everyone USE TO champion

the people on ktt expect these niggas to make MBDTF level music 💀 y’all gotta accept that street rap can co-exist with the other s*** y’all be listening to

Exactly bro but still, it's levels to this s*** and you have to respect each level accordingly

That's why I love every faucet of hip hop bro, literally every lane.

It's ALL HIP HOP, no matter now you put it. They all make the slices in the pie chart complete.

Even tho depending on the type of pie that is being baked in a certain time THEY HAVE TO exist in the scheme of ingredients to complete an era of music

Not unless the styles switch up and they start rapping on more diverse beats.

Nobody wants to hear the same instrumentals used over and over like they've been doing for a while

on KTT1 you can see when I was hyping this up to be dope, then last year I was like ehh now I'm sick of it

this music only gonna last if a lot of the starboys in the genre don’t get mixed in with their old life like youngboy for instance

Im not one to comment on this but incidents like whatever Pooh Shiesty and whoever got arrested last are proof that alot of these guys are having a hard time seperating that life and their careers. It's sad to see.

Nah cause r&b has been incorporated into rap for nearly 3 decades and rappers now singing on records only cemented it. It's only gonna grow and become more applicable to blues and soul because it's the easiest and rawest way to express emotions. Most rappers that break out come from the south. The reason people began singing in the south is consistent with why artists want to sing so much now. It's more to it than style. If anything, the only other thing I can see being added is like jazz elements into street tales but that might be for artists from different regions.

You only added to what I was saying bro, for decades R&B / Singing has been happening within rap for the longest. The only thing that has changed is the methods to HOW they do it and the sonics that are created from WHAT WAS DONE. Giving you a whole new sound. And leaving most of what was popular dated in a way.

I love Uzi and Carti but I think a lot of this type of music fanbase only looks at music as a means of escapism so they find music with real emotions dealing with real life problems boring. They are privileged and not only don't relate to real struggle but they also don't appreciate or respect it because they haven't been thru s*** in life and only want to hear turn up feel good music because of that.

The issue with these "hip hop fans" now is that they care more about image and authenticity over the ACTUAL music now. It's s***ty to see. I don't get it.

it’s very sad that it’s actually very hard to escape from that life cos even if you move out there’s still a chance of someone wanting to kill you

Theres never been a time where authenticity didnt matter over music in rap. That's a foundational part of the genre.

And then some of these "trend washed" new rappers think "Howling" fake pain on a song to be in trend with other artists who actually put the time into creating a certain sound that did go mainstream, will guarantee the same success. And what's crazy is NOWADAYS it works LMAO. With this FAKE wanna be street image, that will get them hurt outside of music. It's crazy beyond crazy

I'm also slowly being turned off by the same production arguments. They really don't hold as much weight as they once did to me anymore.

Personally I don't keep up with alot of that stuff, but isn't Pop Smoke an example of this? He was honestly just starting to get a huge buzz and was gonna be a superstar, then out of nowhere he got killed?
