Graduation is, sonically, lyrically, and musically one of the greatest albums of all time. Especially if you consider the fact that his last album prior to that was Late Registration. One of the smoothest switch ups in music history in my op.

    ALSO

If i'm not mistaken, it is also one of the most influential albums of all time. The sonic landscape of Graduation alone changed the sound and trajectory of music from that point.

yeah. In 30 years I will be able to share album with my child, explain impact college trilogy had on my life and hip hop as a whole, with it being the end of 50’s reign, the beginning of ye’s sonic exploration that led to 3 albums after that sound nothing like anything before.

Even breaking down album cover and murakamis impact starting from this moment is GOAT

  • Thats not an unpopular opinion. My 2nd favorite album by Kanye

I agree its definitely a great and iconic album for hip hop, Kanye, and even the mainstream music landscape.

I think Barry Bonds and Homecoming bring it down slightly and that Kanye is not trying as hard as he is on albums like LR or MBDTF. Like Kanye at the moment wanted the album to sell and be popular and accessible so you can hear that its slightly dumbed down in a way. I think if he didn't care for those and was simply trying to make the best piece of music, he couldve gone even further with the electronic and futuristic sound he was going for that he eventually further explored on 808s.
