Seriously, its hard to go back.
The free movement, the 1 to 1 gun loading, myself being able to control the recoil as much as I can, able to put down the gun or aim in a specific advantangeous way, the full 3D depth and awareness of a room etc.
Regular screen FPS games feel so limiting & clunky now.
Shout out to the official games like Walking Dead Saints n Sinners, Half Life Alyx, Into the Radius, Onward, Resident Evil 4 Remaster VR, Boneworks & Star Wars Tales etc.
Shout out to the beautiful modders that have fully ported old titles into full fledged VR titles such as Half Life 1, Half Life 2, Doom 3, Doom 2 & Wolfenstein ps2 era etc.
FPS's in VR is a literal full on upgrade reg screen gaming just cant compete

I have a Quest 2 that i use as standalone to play its exclusives + wireless & to also use it for PCVR for its exclusives through Steam + wireless.
I do not have PS4VR nor PS5VR & I dont plan on getting a PSVR, unless something that really really interests me comes out as an exclusive for it.
When im physically climbing a ladder and an enemy is at the top so i climb back down two steps, rest my gun on the top floor sideways and blast the guy while keeping myself fully safe i achieve Nirvana
When there is a turret in a hallway i go against a wall, grab my gun, push it outwards and flipped down the hall with my wrist aiming at its general direction and i blast the turret blindly all while being safe just my hand and forearm exposed i achieve Nirvana
Being able to tilt and peek using my actual body at anytime anywhere instead of a clunky singular button that is also context sensitive I ACHIEVE NIRVANA
Still haven’t experienced this new age VR. Last time I tried it was some s*** from like 07-08
I think im good to wait another 5-8 years before investing in VR, just because I have this feel that the technology will have a serious jump in quality over that time
Half Life Alyx ruined VR for me cause all other games are such s*** and shovelware compared to it
Still haven’t experienced this new age VR. Last time I tried it was some s*** from like 07-08

i got arthritis in my right hand from vr p***
What’s a good way to try it? Buy one of those cheap VR headsets that use your phone?
Was playing a full fledged VR modded version of Quake 3 that feels like its officially done, in online with a full room amd yeah. Theres no doubt VR is superior & the ultimate form of FPSs period.
Gyro, mouse & especially controller cannot compete.
And even beyond the full body movement advantage thats impossible for traditional screen FPSs, the motion controls at least on Quest 2 are outstanding and literally 1 to 1 movement. Its so clean and smooth, if the Wii was actually competent and at least half as true motion controls then it would have been a bigger standard/alternative.
Cant believe Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft all failed at making motion controls good but VR platforms such as Quest, Pico & Vive figured it out.
I used to strongly hate motion controls, but ever since playing VR through my Quest 2 i now know i dont hate motion controls, i hate bad motion controls. Which was the only option until modern VR.
Real 1 to 1 motion controls with the VR view & full movement also feels way more intuitive.
This is the genre that benefits the most from VR, there is no downside nor gimmick. Only positive.
If an old COD/Halo or a new/side game of COD/Halo ever gets ported to VR not half assed and with the full benefits of VR then its over for traditional flat screen FPSs.
Its so crazy good. Even the multiplayer VR FPS games such as Onward & Pavlov are super dope.
Ive also been playing a VR only FPS singleplayer so much lately called Into the Radius, its a Stalker/Metro otype game thay is open world. Its becoming one of my fav games of all time and is def a top 3 VR game for me along with Resident Evil 4 Remastered VR & Half-Life Alyx. I havent been this much into an FPS game in years.
HMs to Walking Dead Saints and Sinners & Moss (which is a 3rd person game which still works great in VR).
My top 5, but that top 3 is dangerous and console competive.
It really truly feels like the next frontier and evolution of gaming, no more a gimmick. Like 2D to 3D. Its amazing.

I use Quest 2, standalone and also for PCVR. It works on PC so you can play Half-Lyfe Alyx, Asgard's Wrath, Skyrim, No Man's Sky etc. through Steam while still being wireless and having access to Quest 2's exclusives such as Red Matter, Lies Beneath, Resident Evil 4 Remastered VR, Ancient Dungeon etc.
F*** Facebook & Im glad Meta is burning while their only saving grace is the Quest 2
i ain't rlly got nun to say about the topic but i dead appreciate how much of a gamer u are
One of my homies got RE4 on vr and I suck but I will say I see the vision and how people are drawn to VR. I love where technology is going. In a few years maybe it’ll be something I can use but right now it’s kinda hard to get all the way into.
I love that you’re having fun and enjoying it i love that for you brother.
