Will it be East Coast, West Coast, Southern or Midwest? Or will it be a wildcard that wins the decade such as Canada, them Spanish niggas or the UK etc. overall?

70s & 80s was undeniably East Coast (Grandmaster Flash, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys etc.)

First half of the 90s was West Coast (Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eazy E, 2Pac, Ice Cube, Cypress Hill etc.)

Second half of the 90s was East Coast (Nas, Jay Z, Biggie, DMX, Wu Tang Clan, Mobb Deep etc.)

2000s was BOTH East Coast & Southern interchangeably throughout the entire decade (Jay Z, Cam'Ron + Dipset, 50 Cent + GUnit, Ja Rule, Nas etc. - T.I, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne + Hot Boyz, Ludacris, Nelly etc.)

2010s was Southern (Future, Migos, Young Thug, Travis Scott, 2 Chainz, Kodak Black etc.)

Some may argue Midwest (Chief Keef, Lil Durk, Juice Wrld, Kanye West, Chance the Rapper, Big Sean etc.) & some may argue West Coast (Kendrick Lamar + TDE, Tyler the Creator + Odd Future, YG, Nipsey Hussle, Tyga, Vince Staples etc.) for the 2010s. A very few may even say Canada (lol) for the decade but thats only hardcore natives & RnB lovers (this is about RAP ONLY). Only Drake (yes, we all know he's the overall number 1 rapper in the world, but so was Em & that doesnt make the Midwest an auto win for the 2000s) & maybe Tory was & still is really putting on for Canada like that overall.

Still though, overall its def still Southern to me for this decade. Mark all them down (except Canada) in your head if it makes you feel better, they do at least get an HM from myself.

    Now we're onto the 2020s.

It def feels like the Midwest & Southern are fighting for the spot right now so far. You got Dababy, Lucki, Teejayx6, Lil Durk, Polo G, Sada Baby etc. for Midwest & you got people like Lil Baby, NBA Youngboy, Rod Wave, Sahbabii, Young Nudy, Playboi Carti etc. for Southern.

While you have East Coast not too far behind with artists like Fivio Foreign, Lil Tjay, RX Papi etc. and you got the West Coast starting to peek its face over the shoulder with artists like Baby Keem & Roddy Ricch etc.

I think the 2020s is truly anyones game at the moment, I mean its barely only two years, but while Midwest & Southern are currently over there duking it out, you got the East Coast & West Coast rebuilding & training in the corner. RIP Pop Smoke I def think New York would be fully on if he didnt die, but NY drill is bubbling major, while the West has a new focused & chosen champion with Baby Keem & a few other underground & mainstram people such as Roddy, D Smoke, Drakeo etc. & we'll see whats up with PgLang & the second era of TDE soon enough.

Its an all out American Rap civil war with a lot of newcomers & a few veterans. Let the best side(s) win.

Who are yall hoping for & thinking? Im rooting for the West Coast & Midwest myself.

Bump the thread mid to the end of the decade to see who's right

Anything can happen in this era due to the internet.

Australia could become a thing for all we kno.

Kid Laroi is already a example of that.

I would hope DMV but tbh the music scene sucks here( I’m in MD).

We need just need DC and Baltimore niggas to stop killing one another for at least a year so enough talent can have a chance of popping up and making names for themselves in the city.

I would agree with New York of pop smoke didn’t die. There’s no face of New York anymore.
