Don't get me wrong he's not a bad artist, but he's not this generational talent that most people make him out to be. what makes him stand out among his peers?

his vocal ability is ok, nothing really outstanding. the lack of vocal range is mainly what holds him back. there are quite a few r&b/soul artists that are superior to him in this category.

in terms of lyrical prowess, he's also ok-ish. many people see him as this lyrical mastermind but I have yet to hear a single song of his that has truly impressive songwriting. feel free to prove me wrong tho.

I won't comment on the production, cause I feel like he intentionally keeps it a minimum.
