Like an album that really means something to you and did something for you regardless of quality.
Can be any genre. Just has to be an album that made some sort of personal impact.
For me, it’s GKMC. That album changed my life forever and my entire perspective on how I view the world.

When it’s my turn to settle down, my main concern
Promise that you will sing about me
As a kid, I'd say the trinity of GRODT, Graduation, and C3.
I was ultra hyped for all three albums and listened to them soooo much that every song I listen to makes me think about my childhood where I'd play a song from one of the albums to cool off.
There's other albums that I personally love in all genres but these 3 hold a special place in my heart. I rank LR and MBDTF higher though nostalgia outside.
Hearing hi, how are you in middle school was crazy for me. Exposed me to another side of music. S*** was mad heavy for an angsty preteen
I used to have no identity and self respect when i was a teenager... then I heard On Sight
Also, Da Dedication 3(mixtape I know) and The Cool made me appreciate lyricism and wordplay in rap more as a kid.
I remember trying to Google the entendres on the Upgrade U freestyle and Dumb It Down back when Genius wasn't around and it was kinda fun to see different rap forums try to break it down.
talib kweli quality
Watching Movies With The Sound Off.
I was on a personal music sabbatical for like 3 years or so (I missed MBDTF, f***) and returned in 2013 when Mac, J. Cole and Kanye all dropped. Hated Yeezus (grew to love it), f***ed with Cole, and genuinely wondered what the f*** this white kid is doing rapping. Fast forward to a few more listens and that album just captivated me, I was obsessed with it for months.
Didn't realize it until years later that I was going through some really dark s*** and this album just kept me alive for those months. Just knowing there was someone putting a soundtrack to all those f***ed up things I was feeling was enough to help me breathe. This album literally saved my life.

Channel Orange
wasn't even a Frank head like that when it dropped, checked it out immediately
Was in tears less than halfway thru watching the sunset
Nothing else like this album. Dropped my freshman year of high school and was the soundtrack of my graduation ofc. The singles and videos are timeless and after all these years I can still run it all the way thru. After this album Kanye went on to go on to make more experimental works and this album falls somewhere in between the old Kanye and the Kanye that would go on to make 808’s, MBDTF and Yeezus which all are classics in their own right, it’s just this album is my personal favorite
