idk what to tell u, if you want to find examples go on linkedin or something
if your projects are impressive enough you will get attention, it just take either a lot of natural skill or discipline to do it without a degree
linkedin is just people writing fanfiction for likes
a lot of famous artists went to college lol.
It's just cause this is a Kanye site people (not specifically talking about op) think oh f*** college then lmfao.
Exactly. Even Kanye stated on Charlie Rose 'People shouldn't be delusional and drop outta college. I went platinum while in college and had a record deal."
He made the most logistical decision based on a higher opportunity.
u damned if you do damned if you don't.
you major in a "worthless degree" you in debt.
you major in STEM, the market once you graduate into will/is oversaturated asf. Homies that graduated and doing a bunch of coding s*** have said as such.
That's why errbody tryna push trade school on niggas now lol.
i still haven’t decided what to do for college and it makes me not wanna be on earth fr

College itself isnt useless but its definitely shady and you gotta know how to move before you f*** yourself over

I'm really gonna just return to the woods atp.
What the f*** is the point of having 100s of degrees or majors when the only ones that mean something are Med, CompSci, Engineering,
not really much of a reach is it
I mean hes kinda right that the only degrees that mean something are STEM, medicine etc.
but degrees =/= the arts themselves
music is incredibly meaningful to me but I would never advise my friend to get a 100k music degree lol

I'm literally a film maker and I went to college for film before realizing there wasnt really a point in going to school just for that cause of career applications
So i switched it up cause u dont need a film degree to be in the film industry

i mean you gotta go a top college that helps you network and get access to resources, and maybe then its worth it
like doesnt NYU have an insanely good film school thats tough to get into ?
read an article where people were graduating columbia film school with no job prospects and 200k debt.
that s*** sad asf and people need to think twice before getting into major debt for no reason
i still haven’t decided what to do for college and it makes me not wanna be on earth fr
the greatest thing about life is that is long. There's no required age limit to do college, I took a music jazz class my junior year and it was an old ass nigga in there and it was chill

gotta take advantage of what youre paying for-- the branding!-- not the education persay
gotta take advantage of what youre paying for-- the branding!-- not the education persay
right but not everyone can get into a college where the branding outweighs the cost
theres like 20-30 colleges MAX where the math clearly works out in favor of getting a degree
just wanna say, it's easy from the outsider perspective to say "hey find a major that gets you paid" but knowing that isn't what you wanna do in life and you going to school cause your parents kinda forcing you in it, that can be a huge burden that can drive many kids to a depressive spiral.
A lot of kids especially artist kids go through that a lot.

Def some good jobs in the production side of filmmaking, TV, music, theater, etc. I still am thankful for getting a degree in that field because I have been able to get work from it. I feel you though cause a lot of it is built on the connections you make.
if you want a job just go to trades school tbh its way better and you can get paid right out the gate
education wise i do think you can learn a lot about liberal arts on your own, for example a lot of the socialists on here didn't study it in school yet they're still very knowledgeable about it. however, getting detailed feedback from professors, being surrounded by like-minded people and the high-stakes of school are unparalleled, even with the abundance of knowledge out there - university is still the best medium in terms of learning, imo, but i wouldnt say its worth it
most people don't go to school just for an education, a degree is more-so about "networking", making connections, and serving as a right of passage - like a badge you wear that proves you were able to handle the stress of university, and critically engage as an "intellectual". also, its the peak of some peoples life (sad) who will be reminiscing about the "university experience" for the rest of time while the soul-crushing nature of working a useless job and enriching someone else eats away at their soul
i agree thats degrees (especially in America) are WAY overpriced. it's really stupid that you need to pay so much money just to "network" with other people and "prove" to your employer than you're not completely incompetent.
but theres definitely options you can take - if you get good grades, doing your masters can be beneficial and help get a position in something that interests you + pays well. a bachelors is also the bare minimum required for a lot of jobs

Did you network while in school? Especially with your concentration. That should be priority #1, tbh.
it’s true
