I don’t get it. When an artist gets better at pretty much every aspect of their music but less people like it why is that? Good example is Julian Casablancas with the voidz vs the strokes. The voidz are better in literally every aspect but some people hate them or won’t even attempt to listen. yes I know about opinions but it doesn’t make sense to me

the style of the voidz is pretty different compared to the strokes, so it makes sense to me why some of the original fans dont like it

and people might be in it more for the strokes band itself and not necessarily just julian

People value different art forms for different reasons, there’s no such thing as an “objectively good” project
