Looking for a new budget computer and I’m between the Acer Swift 3 with AMD Ryzen 7 4700U, 8GB of RAM and 512GB SSD or the Acer Aspire 5 with AMD Ryzen 5 3500U, 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD. Both are practically the same price (670$ more or less). Which one do you think it’s better?
Depends a lot on your usage imo
16GBs of RAM make a laptop definitely more future proof, especially in these times when you're forced by school/work to use a bunch of memory hungry programs (see all the Electron based stuff)
But on the other one you have a higher model new gen CPU based on the new 7nm tech which is also not bad
Could help if you're trying to push some slightly heavier program
Personally I'd probably pick the 16GB RAM model, but I think you should try and see what the reviews say about it.
Build quality (materials ex. aluminium instead of plastic, heat dissipation) it's key imo. Can easily kill the performance of a good specc'ed notebook or boost something otherwise average.
Also check the screen panel used, one could be a lot better than the other

okay will definetly check for those things, thank you very much for answering <3<3
@Papi these are the two options, do you think there are better computers at this price range? or Im fine with either one of these two

OP i would go with the Swift 3. I bought an Acer Nitro 5 over the summer which has a 15.6” screen. The trackpad on it is really s***ty and often gives me laggy inputs and ghost inputs when i’m not touching it. I looked into it and it’s apparently a common problem with Acer’s 15.6” models. So based on that I wouldn’t get the Aspire 5
a thinkpad bro

oh man that sucks, how much much ram and storage capacity did yours have?
the swift 3 has half capacity in RAM and Storage and supposedly the screen display is very dim, it lacks brightness
which one??
the one thats within your budget lol

Check the reviews, you can compare the stats inside the page as well. Dunno if they're exactly the same hw builds but they should be the same models.
Btw based on these I'd probably pick the Swift
