I’ve always been of the mindset that once the music is finished, you prepare a release plan, then execute the release plan to the best of your ability, than just release it ASAP
Like, every day the songs aren’t coming out, they’re getting dusty, you’re moving farther away from the place you were in when you made them, they’re just aging.
And it’s not like a song will suddenly become unusable in a couple weeks or anything, I’m just saying eventually, if you sit on it too long, you might just never release it because it’s no longer where your muse is. Happened to me twice so far.
So basically, just capture the moment and release it as soon as you can, before it ends up vaulted.
The one exception to this rule I can think of is if you made an album for a specific season, and you want to wait til then to drop it. Like how Blonde probably wouldn’t have hit as hard if it came out after summer
