Genuine question because I’m not sure of all the ins and outs of the bundle rules that been updated in the past couple years, but I’ve seen ppl on here saying 1 million first week is not physically possible anymore. Is that a bad thing for the artists? Is it because the way streams are counted now is unfair for the artist? Just tryna see where everyone’s line of thinking is, thought it was all relative so like the “new” 1 mill is like 500k or something (just for example). I’m sure it’s not that simple I just don’t understand.

Also if this belongs in the sales thread I understand

It’s not a bad thing. Artist are richer than ever. Some of the people who used to sell 500k first week in the early 2000s went broke.

First week numbers are just a label game.

We maybe could have a real discussion if it wasn’t accompanied by Stan wars so I just stay out of it

  • Numbers don’t really matter that stuff is just used by the label to make artist look big
