People said enough is enough and then being in the middle of a pandemic made things worse because people were already agitated.

  • Jun 1, 2020

Because the government simply doesn't care.

This wouldn’t be happening rn without covid and the 2 month quarantine we’ve been on

Now there are millions with no jobs, no responsibilities, no access to their usual hobbies. They’ve been itching to for an excuse to go out and gather again. Take out some frustration.

Obviously this doesn’t describe all of the protestors. Some have stood by the message. But most of the rioters and looters are just selfish opportunists.

?? The rona and quarantine played a big part in all of this. I would even go as far as saying the massive looting can be linked to it as well.

Or a lot of the rioters/looters are broke. To call them selfish is a bit extreme. In times like this when unemployment is at its worst, we should’ve known looting would be an issue. Don’t down the looters, blame the government for not taking care of them properly. They have folks 1.2k a few months ago. A lot of people haven’t touched any money since then.

A lot of them are good for stealing from big corporations but there are others who steal and ransack small businesses.

People who destroy and rape small businesses are a different kind of demented.

If you harm a small businesses during riots you need to get charged with the fullest extent of the law imo.

If you f*** up a corporation

Not really because this affects the owners and employees to the core

This also affects the owners family as well.

    It's extremely devastating

There’s a lot of things in life that are devastating, doesn’t mean they are “rape” (unless of course they actually are rape)

It was no where near the level of this

it took Ferguson and countless other incidents to even get to this

The incident with Michael Brown wasn't recorded, and therefore could have at least been argued that the officer shot him in self-defense because witnesses gave different reports of what actually happened. Though that was plainly bullshit, the lack of visual proof made it possible for cop-sympathizers and pro-status quo types to kick their cognitive dissonance under the rug. As a result, the riots were more localized and limited to the directly affected communities.

With Floyd, we all were made the unfortunate witnesses to his unjust death. We have the entire picture, from start to finish, and there's no longer any technicality that justifies it or produces a valid excuse for the police. It was a serious redpill, even for the most hardened conservative/WASC types, that the claims that the black community have been making against police were not, in fact, a shameless lack of accountability or a 'one bad apple' scenario.

This. Plus the current economic and political climate is so much worse.
