All the time I see people talking about why such and such is not classic or this guy is trash because the general public doesn't listen to it...like what the hell is that bro?

This is not a thread about what isn't a classic or classics at all, but I know yall are gonna say "insert album isn't a classic" for likes so get your likes off

But if we're music fans talking about music, we should have a higher standard than the casual listener. Sure, an artist being able to connect to the casual listener is impressive, but (like I said before) to act like the casual listener is superior to people who care about music because you think that'll make you less of a music nerd is hilarious and delusional

i always defined an album as classic by its quality or influence. Sometimes an album is so f***ing good, but it wasnt THAT influential like TPAB that can be deemed as a classic or an album that isnt THAT good, but it was influential, like 808s and Heartbreak that is an undeniable classic
