It’s always funny when interviewers talk so much s*** but then kiss up to the artist in interviews lol

Joe Budden was getting Jeezy last albums outta here and was acting like that nigga was the hottest rapper out when he came to every day struggle

Or Joe Budden would yell at you multiple times

Facts but ever since he started doing Pull Up episodes his energy different from the pod

At this point I only watch those interviews for industry info

  • But I get it. Most interviewers don’t wanna be conformational so they just meat ride the person the whole time so there’s no tension. Makes sense

Zane works for Apple so he has to promote the music lol. But yeah he's on artist's d*** too much. The LA Leakers are also annoying af.

Hate it when interviewers just ramble on and on and on.

Zane Lowe tells everyone that their album is amazing. No journalistic integrity whatsoever.

Same thing for most of these other outlets. Outside of Charlemagne, I don’t see much honest commentary on the quality of albums

Big Sean probably thinks he has a classic on his hands because in all his interviews they just feeding him cap.

Promote the product... The label said so

There’s a nice way to Tell an artists their album/song wasn’t doing it for ya. I’ve done it multiple times in my interviews

yeah. theres a decent way to give a subjective impression that isnt offensive

I may never forgive Drink Champs for how they handled the Wayne interview for Funeral. Sounded like they had 2 industrial sized fans blowing at full speed 4 feet away from Wayne.

did you ever watch that one though? It was bullshit, you could only hear about every 4th word Wayne said.

  • Sep 16, 2020

because the dynamics between interviewers and artists switched due to social media. artists no longer need to do interviews so if you're going to ask someone hard questions, they'll just the interview elsewhere or not do one at all.

  • Sep 16, 2020

Joe Budden is phony just gonna say it. KTSE in interviews and the podcast

  • Sep 16, 2020

Like Charlemagne was crtical of DAMN. He still loved it but he had critiques of it and that was the one era where they didn’t interview Kendrick.

That was also when Zane all we interviewed him

    😂

  • Sep 16, 2020

and if an artist cannot appreciate some honesty, then :mm:

Or how about.. I thought the album was good. Good lyricism great production but way too many songs.

i do think that artists are in too much of an echo chamber now. like i feel as tho it used to be okay to tell someone they made a s***ty album, if not directly, through reviews and fan opinions, it was eventually seen as a mainstream opinion. Like with Camp and Blue Slide Park, and in both cases, I think that the reception had a positive effect on the later art from the artist in question. Now, everyone cares too much about connections n s*** and are unwilling to critique art

Because they know artists already dont like interviews so they try their best to make them feel comfortable. Also the point of those interviews are to promote something not critique it

But they are offering critique though. It’s not just promotion it’s just dishonest critique

  • Can people stop asking people who is on the upcoming album? 95% of the time, all you get is a smirk and a " its a surprise, I got some big names though"
