    It sounds ok on my computer but when I upload to YouTube it f***s up the hi hats quality. Any advice? Should I use WAV instead? How do you guys upload it?

    how are you uploading them?
    through an official distributor like DistroKid or through the upload button on youtube?
    do you create a custom video with the song on it?

    i always use wavs ever since i started so idk, it will prolly help a bit, but its just trash ass youtube compressing it, it will always sound a bit worse than what you upload

    does the audio sound good when you render it out of the windows video editor ?

    didn't know windows still had a video editor tbh

    yeah don't use that one, I checked it a bit now and it seems it doesn't have any audio settings for the rendered video

    what I use is Sony Vegas (doesn't really matter which version, but try to maintain as a minimum 10)
    and when I render I have options for the audio so I select the bitrate to higher than 44.000 and it sounds perfect

    I can guess it sounds ok on your computer because it runs Windows and the video has been rendered with a Windows product so it kinda makes sense

    if you manage to get it, just follow these steps:

    1. Click on the little button next to the video preview window
    2. Go to the Audio tab
    3. Select Sample rate to 192.000 (also Resample and strech quality to Best)
    4. Check 'Start all new projects with these settings'
    5. Hit OK
