I hope he does so we can watch his stans change their narrative on bundles.

I think our main point is that you can’t compare sales without bundles to sales with bundles. And bundles for stupid little s*** like lollipops is lame.

Can you find me a source that even implies Billboard counted one sale as two for Drake? Everything I’ve read has indicated it missed out on the double sales since it wasn’t the full 100 minutes. Also billboard has published how it counts album sales, I haven’t seen anything indicate double albums having different metrics, not any indication at all that Scorpion is a double album. This is like me asking you to prove that TLOP wasn’t counted as a double album for sales purposes, you can’t find any sources on it because it wasn’t.

TLOP isnt marketed as a double album I dont know why anyone would even discuss that

Oh yeah he also made it a double album so every stream on it counted as 2 streams

    Lmfao

    1. The doubling rule only applies to RIAA Certifications, not Billboard 200 / Hot 100 sales
    2. The minimum album length threshold to be counted as a double-album by RIAA is 100 minutes. The album was 9 minutes shy of this threshold. If he really cared about maximizing certifications and numbers he could’ve / would’ve easily added 3 tracks.

They are commonly confused. Another fun fact: song sales from weeks prior to the album’s release are not rolled into Billboard first week sales. Those only count for RIAA Certifications, too.

We already clarified this 😂. Billboard doesn’t consider DAMN or any of his albums as bundled sales.

i don't think its equivalent but its def something to help out. every artist needs at least something at this point. Drake was not naturally doing the same exact numbers without that. hundreds of millions had to see drake regardless of what they were looking for. had people demanding refunds too bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-44695062

like the s*** affected users who were simply going to listen to their church gospel music. it was much more in your face but not nearly as desperate as selling posters with a free download code.

For people that don't listen to Drake that whole scheme was a huge advertisement on an ad free premium account that they had to see every time they clicked the app.

This wasn’t Drake, it was Spotify.
The day Scorpion dropped Spotify dropped the ball and didn’t even put the album up, missing out on a ton of streams. Everyone who wanted to listen to it on Spotify couldn’t

    mobile.twitter.com/search?lang=en&q=Scorpion%20not%20on%20Spotify&src=typed_query

After that they tried to compensate for the lost streams by shoving his music on everyone.

no no no this deal was def in place i remembered knowing this was happening before

right here: "According to a rep for Spotify, the streaming service has planned a large event in tandem with the drop, a "global dedicated artist takeover dubbed 'Scorpion SZN' in honor of Drake's newest album release.' Part of that promotion includes a takeover on all of the service's marquee playlists, such as RapCaviar and Beast Mode." thefader.com/2018/06/29/drake-scorpion-spotify-stream

These things are never the artist themselves even bundles. Spotify didn't randomly do this without Drakes team and label was mutually beneficial and helped the sales. Judging by them taking so long to put it up, its more likely its cus they needed to relaunch their entire program with everything edited just for Drake promo so it took a while. wasn't like they forgot or were harmed by it

I wouldn’t mind a Tour bundle but if I see keychains and other crap lowkey I would side eye. They need to create a separate chart that includes bundles though too many selling more merch than music and that shouldn’t be included in the main charts with albums that have no bundles.

People still pushing that Spotify s*** need to stop.

This doesn’t really say they had a deal or even partnered with Drake, it’s just saying Spotify was doing an event for it. Which makes sense seeing how he’s their most streamed artist.
