and i know it’s become a cliche to hype up every semi-experimental rap album to the new yeezus, but it’s more than WLR being punkish and experimental for me. to the way both albums capture the hedonistic rap lifestyle, to the divided first reaction and then everybody (mostly) coming back around after a few months, to the high fashion punk aesthetic etc.

It’s a groundbreaking album.

i can understand why people like it. i listened to the album like 10 times but never really felt like carti did anything really impressive. just felt like the beats were more integral to the album than anything he did on it.
