  • Nu-Blog: a 2020s hip-hop movement with sounds that resemble the original Blog Era of the late 2000s and early 2010s. Instead of freestyling over Synthpop samples, Nu-Blog often incorporates alt rock and punk instrumentals in their music. TBH, it's some artists that I'd recommend to people in their mid 20s that say "rap is mid now!"

Artists Included (but not limited to)
    Baby Keem (you know him)

    Kenny Mason

    AG Club

    Paris Texas

    Mike Dimes

    Teezo Touchdown

    Genesis Owusu

    Tom the Mail Man

    Redveil

    JAHMED

Na I don’t agree. Rap right now is stagnant too. Happens every new decade. The only artist who has came with his own sound that’s fresh this decade has been carti so far. Rest is just repeated s*** we been hearing since post 2018

I'm confused how you're connecting all these tracks into one sound and also thinking it sounds like the blog era I like them but I don't see a resemblance

tbh i like the effort from op but i think all of this + a lot of the blog era would just be considered "alternative hip hop" lol

Guessing cuz its "real rap" mixed with some experimentation with a bit of mainstream appeal still

Like early ASAP, Chance, Krit, Travis, Kendrick, Drake etc.

"Blog era" was really diverse too tho in the mixtape scene so idk if you can truncate it easily.

Why is using an old sound in a different year called something different than what the original sound was called?

Hip hop is just like fashion/clothes. Except instead of every 20 years it’s every 10 years old trends come back up

kinda here nor there but this made me think of a better thread idea (no offence op)

post-boombap (roc marciano, slums, griselda) vs neo boombap (pro era, underachievers)

    Real

Gonna be a lot of hater comment potential too since they see them as being close together in terms of years

Yeah pretty much. Plus all these artists seem to draw influences from those artists as opposed to the newer artists that are more influenced by Future, Thug, Carti, ect.

Because these artists don't exactly sound like the artists from that era but they're inspired by them and have a similar energy
