We all said the same thing about Facebook Watch when it first launched, look at crazy their numbers now.

As for youtube shorts, they're gonna push it lowkey to the forefront of their app that people won't realize they're already watching it

it’s embedded in instagram which is weird. all the reels i see are just re uploaded tik toks that still have the tik tok branding on them. if they really wanted to compete with a stand-alone social media app they shouldn’t have made it only discoverable in the explore tab and instead make a separate app. i honestly don’t see it going anywhere but i’ll eat my words if i’m wrong

that being said, just as OP said - when Instagram Stories first came out people had doubts but it genuinely rocked snapchat's s***
