It's so ass
actually was meaning to ping u 4 this, you’re fw this?
yeah i like it. can't see it settling in as one of her best but also definitely not her worst
There are definitely valid criticisms and the sheer amount of songs is a bit much but i think the highlights are actually pretty amazing and better than Midnights highlights. the only brand new aspect really is the overall mood/thematical approach, but i think it is cool to have a Taylor album where she's talking about death more and saying she's an alcoholic etc. i don't give a f*** about her breakups or anything but I think I initially overestimated how important those gossip details are to the album. It is really funny to see people completely miss out on the irony of the album and think she's genuinely casting herself as a tortured poet. again criticisms are fair and I understand not liking it but there's also a huge hate bandwagon of music skimmer RYM types not even trying to engage with it
But Daddy I Love Him
Guilty as Sin
So High School
The Bolter
Thank you Aimee
Fortnight
My Boy Only Breaks his favorite toys
all super fire. I think people are pretty wrong with the 'no catchy songs' criticism but i cant really blame them too much because theyre sprinkled throughout the whole duration
Alright I think I fw I can do it with a broken heart now
I'm so depressed, I act like it's my birthday every day
I'm so obsessed with him, but he avoids me like the plague
I cry a lot, but I am so productive, it's an art
yeah i like it. can't see it settling in as one of her best but also definitely not her worst

But Daddy I Love Him is a masterpiece. Lowkey might be the best song she’s ever made imo. Guilty as sin is the absolute catchiest s*** ever. So infectious, melodies on there sound straight from the Speak Now era.
Edit: Also, regarding the ‘no catchy songs’ argument, each of the first four songs on the album are literally all catchy as hell
I really like the album
way better than Midnights both production wise and just having better tracks
Guilty As Sin, So Long London, & loml are my favorites so far
now that the dust has settled this is one of her worst albums. bottom 2 fs. i really hope this doesn’t win a grammy. doesn’t have its own identity

half of it is great but it’s so filler heavy it’s crazy
I never cared to finish this album and now I don't even wanna revisit it. And I'm a diehard swiftie.
The discourse around this album is exhausting. There’s very little room for nuanced criticism. I’ve seen a lot of people look for any reason to trash this, and I’ve also seen Swifties reach for the sky trying to defend TTPD as some complex, profound D***ensian record.
A lot of the criticisms are completely valid. Personally I think this is better than Midnights. I don’t see this becoming one of my favorites, but it’s fine. The reason it’s disappointing is because she is clearly capable of so much more.
