Ambersunshower is her real name. Her full name is "Ambersunshower Nadine Miligros Villenuevo Smith" that's like 5 n 3 quarters middle names If you guessed that her parents were Bohemians, congrats you have won a sealed promo Russian format tape of Arsenio Hall's rap album- Chunky A.

Sometime in the 90's she became a rapper and toured as a duo called "Groove Garden" Groove Garden was signed to Tommy Boy Records. GG opens up for Digable Planets & has a little bit of exposure because of this.

She disbands due to take care of her grandfather, Walter. This is the inspiration to start singing instead of focusing on rapping. She starts a new direction & starts writing songs with only singing melodies & introspective lyrics. At this time in the 90's to make a move like this was extremely bold from artist standpoint.

She signs to Gee Street records & creates music with a more pronounced edge sounding sort of like if ATCQ tricky portishead Esthero and Pete Rock were at the helm of the project using live instrumentation around clever music samples.

She names the album, "Walter T Smith" - in honor of her grandfather. The first single is the title track. If you think about it, this sounds perfectly geared for international markets. But this isn't how the music business works. It's timing, artist development, talent & luck in most cases.

If you like movies, 2 tracks were heard in films- The Great White Hype & Senseless. She also had a feature on a Tricky song "you don't wanna"
On one song the sample for Loose Endz classic anthem-Hanging on a String is used.

In 2008, she resurfaces and releases Turtle Chronicles that is not on Gee Street Records . Sly & Robbie produce 2 tracks. She also becomes a children's book author & releases a companion lp, Songs from the muddy rock.

IN this drop bundle you get Walter T & Turtle Chronicles, artwork scans for the projects. Estimated Running time- 85 minutes for both.

Good Night & see you again on Wednesday. I hope you enjoy the drop this evening.

She's very cool. It does have an international appeal. What do you mean by being too ahead of it's time?

What i mean is the way it sounds

She’s from the US and people in the us really weren’t up on tricky or any of these influences (outside of metropolis areas that could support ish like this)

Even with something like Tribe called Quest or Pete Rock - this work most people never heard. They were listening to mainly the billboard 200 working in tandem with mtv

So that changes your perspective a bit

But even the artwork style is difficult to get people to stop at an aisle to look.

Which is why in most cases labels kept it simple because they couldn’t gamble their offices or position away

Most labels aren’t doing that but if you look at gee street - who did they sign?

    Grave Diggaz
    PM Dawn
    Stereo Mc’s
    Jungle Brothers
    & so forth

Forward thinking music for the streets and clubs

Eventually they couldn’t compete with the bigger fish but

for a white label bootstrap start up - kinda impressive 😎
