artists who happen to be Black women are often dismissed or overlooked completely, regardless how talented or creative they are

I grew up around Black women and love them to death so I’m specific and intentional in my support for my Sisters

I disagree with that, especially in the world of r&b. The most popular artist today in the genre or black women. Also it’s not just an issue with black women there are tons of other artist who are not black women who are overlooked regardless of how talented they are.

I understand and I have been around mostly black women my entire life. However labeling them as black women is boxing them in as artist and is already creating a narrative for them indirectly.

That’s just my two cents, I like your threads and I don’t want to seem like I’m trying to attack you.

Definitely going to peep Koffee later today, I’ve been on Afro Punk and Reggae vibe since the season is turning towards Spring.
