Total was actually $80 and some change, the remaining $20 was fees & tip on Instacart.

This narrative that groceries are too expensive due to the current administration is hilarious

I live in NYC btw so COL argument is nonexistent

(Doesn't include the stuff on the shelf)

My brother in Christ I’m looking at nothing right now . Is that like 4 pounds of low quality meat you are using to flex ?

No offense, but you are eating frozen chicken tenders so your argument is invalid

  • What a dumb ass thread

one thing i've noticed when grocery shopping is that a massive cost raise isn't necessarily on food but on toiletries and packaged and/or dry goods (i.e. coffee). any time i buy like paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc. i stg the cost is like 6x what it was 5 years ago.

are people clowning op because they’ve taken the post to mean ‘it’s not hard lol you don’t actually struggle’?

other places on the internet i’ve seen people post their food just to show what they can get, withour any kind of point attached

29 min on the train each way to get to Aldi from my apt

Trader Joe's is a 8 min walk tho and i could prob get a similar haul there but I was busy

Not a bad trade off in this situation

They're missing the point of the thread: that the notion that groceries are now all of a sudden uber-expensive are 1.) a conservative talking point & 2.) exposes dumb shopping habits

i kinda just saw the food and was like ‘damn nice’

with that being said, i’m sure there’s a cost of living crisis everywhere but america definitely has it better than much of the world in this regard. in my country inflation still running pretty high. not supporting the idea that essentials are pricy, but an addition to the discussion

it’s true that there’s a cost of living crisis but it’s fuel, energy and heating that’s borne the brunt of it really

COL comment was so people didn't claim I was in a rural area where everything is generally less expensive than NYC/SF/other high COL areas

america doesn’t look to be collapsing anytime soon, nor does the rest of the world

not saying it won’t but people are generally quite hyperbolic

Hear me out. I cut my grocery bill in half going there. It adds up to a lot by the end of the month. I'm so glad they finally opened more stores in SoCal.

I mix. The stuff I know that isn't trash at aldi I get there, everything else at a normal grocery store

Aldi has a lot of really garbage ass food. But they also have a lot of good cheap food. I've always been upset when I do a full trip there and only there

I've noticed by me their ground beef is more expensive than other places which I don't get at all
