    Best song imo : Throwback

    real

Arguably one of the best “modern” R&B albums ever. I can distinctly remember when this album dropped it was literally inescapable. Usher is a legend for this one.

Released during the height of illegal downloading btw

Very debatable. I would say ilegal downloading hit its peak in the late 2000s/early 2010s

You’re correct, when Confessions dropped the internet wasn’t mainstream. The iPhone wasn’t even out yet.

Tbf by the time Usher was messing with EDM, R&B as a genre didn't even know who it was anymore lol

Plus when you hit a peak like Confessions ain't nowhere to go but down. His next album sold 400k first week and was considered a flop

I'm not mad at him switching it up

It's sad because even neyo transitioned to edm and lost only rih survived the EDM mess

It f***ed up his entire credibility, and lost all his black fans. He went straight into Jason derulo territory

I wonder why Beyonce never messed around with EDM now that I think about it? At least I don't remember her doing so.

She kinda went completely left to what everyone else was doing in the early 2010s and made her most soulful album with 4
