As everyone else said, an extremely good album. Definitely my favorite from him and IMO Em at his peak.
Great album
amazing album, from the concept to its execution.
every song bangs and has a sense of urgency, perfectly translating Em's struggles and rage towards the bad aspects of his fame. Em took control of the production and did not disappoint (his style is obviously very simple and "rudimentary", but it works in its on way)
the energy on soldier, say goodbye to hollywood, white america, sing for the moment...
10/10
fun fact: Till' I Collapse is the only non-single track to reach 1 billion plays on spotify... of all time... that's amazing.

being a kid was hilarious tbh...I remember only knowing D12's first single as Purple Hills for the longest and didn't understand what the f*** they were talking about in the verses at all lmao

Career defining album for him. Was a big deal for me when my mom bought me the CD.

Yes!!! Our moms were such real ones same
first explicit rap album I was allowed to buy was the 8 Mile Soundtrack lol had to look up the lyrics for my mom like "they only say f*** a couple times!" I had limewire but also had dial up internet so took forever to download full albums or anything like that off there so mainly just downloaded individual songs like the Hail Mary Remix diss to Ja and the explicit version of Slippin'

I remember the woman at K-mart trying to tell my mom the difference between the explicit and non explicit. They had a sign at the register about it, just because of him
