Listen to his previous work. Comparing it to that this s*** sounds bland af. Yea production is cool but overall nothing really insane or shocking to make me keep revisiting besides maybe a handful of songs
I'm a fan I listened to everything. I think it's on par with his best rap songs. It's not cutting edge but it's supposed to be like a mixtape. And it did have surprises like Sweet / I Thought You Wanted to Dance.
But yeah I can't tell you not to be disappointed lol. There's not a lot to explore you either like it or not.
KHALED KHALED
even though I didn’t have expectations to begin with. I usually like 2 or 3 songs. This go around I just kept one

One good Lil Baby song and that's it

Speak for yourself
S*** is great
DMX unfortunately wasn’t good at all and I was really hoping to like that album.
Polo G wasn’t terrible but it was pretty bland truthfully

Yea sweet/thought you wanted to dance Is the highlight. So good
I think this isn’t on par. This is like the most default average rapping this is for someone like Tyler. His rapping on Cherry Bomb/FB and even wolf is waaaaaay better. Wolf still lyrically the best he’s been. This album sounds like if Wolf Tyler and Igor Tyler fused and made a project. Yea I get it’s a mixtape theme in a sense but still it just doesn’t really sound insane like each project was like a shocker. From Wolf to CB to FB to IGOR. Unpredictable. This album sounds so basic and predictable but I don’t think it’s “bad” just underwhelming for a fan of him
The second Taylor swift experience was a little disappointing but a standout of 2021 nonetheless
DMX
Migos
Durk & Baby
Polo (even though I like the tracks that were already out)
Lana (that second half was mad boring)
Khaled
No way second half of the year will be worse than first half.
Oh yeah the Ski Mask tape was terrible. Didn't do it for me
Ski's project really made me question why I even care to listen to his new music, just a lack of growth for the most part. and even when he tried to bring back the old energy it just didn't work. Hope he'll come back up eventually and doesn't get dropped by his label
tlop 5, culture 3, and ski mask's project
this
dead only 2 good songs on there everything else hot trash. and he has so much talent too man it's sad to see him go out like this

I think it's the bad beats and the long wait and no progression

As much as Swizz claims the album was 100% done I really feel like it wasnt close to be completed it felt rushed to hell.

he really went from dropping a banger with diaspora to a straight dud in haram crazy dropoff.
Which projects were you anticipating that underwhelmed you?
I have 2 off the top of my head:
1. serpentwithfeet - Deacon
His music has become way less interesting since he lost the septum and grew out his hair. “Fellowship” is still a great song, though.
2. AKAI SOLO & Navy Blue - True Sky
I’ve become a pretty big fan of both of these guys over the last couple of years, but this collaboration just isn’t hitting for me. Navy’s beats are cool and AKAI’s pen is on point, but they just don’t bring the best out of each other like I hoped. It’s okay. Maybe my expectations were too high
With you on True Sky. Something lacking for sure and yeah don't feel they bring the best out of each other. Eleventh Wind is an endlessly replayable able project to me but I haven't had the urge often to revisit this one in full. Ocean Hue Hour/Heavy Sigh are a phenomenal couple of tracks though.
