I’ve never played either. I know very little about either, but I know I love JRPGs and everyone who I trust has strongly recommended this game to me.

I understand that Royal is essentially a perfected version of the game + add ons.

My question is, is the difference between the two games REALLY worth paying 300% more? Copping a good game for $20 is an indescribable feeling. Can I get away with getting the original and still have my mind blown?

I have a PS4 Pro.

royal. it's the definitive version of the game with QOL updates, 20-30 hours of extra story, and new features/things to do in general. basically improves on most aspects of the original, so it's absolutely worth imo.

if you're unsure of whether you'd enjoy the game, then i'd just get the base game, since it's $40 less. but i think royal is more than worth it (it is my all time favorite game, so i'm a bit biased).
