I feel like before then it was kind of an arms race among the good rap artists to make the dopest most creative album mfs could muster. Then s*** like MBDTF, GKMC, Yeezus, and TPAB dropped and mfs just collectively went "we can't top this s***, lets just make trap, pop rap, and dusty coke rap" and critics all collectively went "nothing will ever be better than this, everything is a 5/10"

Idk man Im at work, its early, and rap is boooring rn

I agree. Look at their peers Drake (Views) and J Cole’s (4YEO) attempts at making concept albums

    This factual.

Not a single person can ever make a MBDTF or TPAB other than those two respectively.

You can only go downhill listening to anything outside of that.

Drake said the album was supposed to represent the changing of seasons. From winter to summer back to winter or some bullshit

Maybe an economic collapse will forge a new nigga to come up with some new s***.

Artist aint struggling anymore therefore not creating from depth

Only a streaming collapse could bring the superstar back to rap

Sadly you may be right and we’re too far gone

Still hope there’s a correction. People itch for realness.

You really think this is some sort of revelation obviously I am aware of this

I only mentioned those genres because they became dominant to the point that it seems like that's 90% of what gets dropped now I never said those genres were literally born after 2015 wtf lmao why would you even think that

    Flower Boy dropped in 2017

Not an album I particularly like tbh but definitely unique and a creative vision executed well
