Blog and Tumblr era is def true underground.
Odd Future, Gambino, Wiz, Asher Roth, Mac Miller, Big Krit, Wale, Azelia, and so many people in so many different pockets of hip-hop only remembered through Youtube comments.
Also, doesn't help that mixtapes don't really exist on streaming for that period of time.
Gambino, Wiz Khalifs, Mac Miller, Azelia, and at least a third of Odd Future are all extremely popular artists/people with mainstream name recognition, I wouldn’t say they’re only remembered from Youtube comments

i’m talking about the general public though. There’s people that know of 6ix9ine’s antics and songs more than they know a full Mac Miller mixtape

yeah but there is still artist catalogue people dont know about because it isnt on streaming, there is tyler fans that dont even know about B******'s existence
Hashtag flow
Nah used right it’s still hard as hell.
That’s basically the whole beef about it, Sean, Luda, Drake, Nicki, Wayne, Donnis.
Sean evolved it from a basic 1-2 punchline then watched as everyone else used it.. rather corny at that..

More people know about Mac Miller than whatever 6ix9ine is doing though
blog era was so cool cause the artist actually had communities they f***ed with on the internet like a genuine relationship/understanding , unlike now where it’s just twitter trolls and stan’s who seem really annoying
we’re kinda having a second blog era now though

Mac Miller is way bigger, more known and spoken about during his time than 6ix9ine is now

Fair but Azelia isn't selling 50k today. Neither is majority of OF. It took years for any of those guys to get to where they are now.
Wiz is basically a legacy act too.

A lot more people included that I didn't think of as well. A lot of tapes and projects not listened to because it's not on streaming

But wiz Gambino and odd future took precedent lmao
Just funny you back your point up with them first
But I do agree w your point
