Everyone talks about 2015 and 2016 being the best recent years for Rap but they always seem to skip over 2017....

February 2017: Future drops FUTURE then a weak later, he drops HNDRXX

HNDRXX possibly the best album to drop in 2017

Thugga released BTG with that weird ass cover but still it's a 10/10 album

Although I dont listen to Uzi anymore, when he dropped LIR2, he had every house party jumping from North to South

And while you guys might not like it, but Jaden Smith revolutionised Rap Music with the release of SYRE

Pls pls pls tell me who has dropped something like B L U E
That nigga was really ahead of his time

"SYRE, The story of a boy who chased the sunset until it chased him"

I don't even have to talk to you guys about the production on that f***ing tape Imma just tell you to listen to Ninety, and then Lost Boy on that album cos omds i'm about to BUST.

Even though this album didn't drop during the summer of '17, Drake cemented that summer as one of the greatest in recent times with More Life That album (compilation ) featured the likes of Passionfruit, Madiba Riddim, Blem, 4422, Gyalcester, Portland, Teenage Fever and the almighty Do Not Disturb

Y'all will come to realise that album is a classic in due time

The late Jahseh Onfroy (X) coming off the back of Look At Me released his album '17' but not before coming for Drake and his mother after Drake used his likeness on "KMT"

This caused hype around the release of 17 and lemme tell you it lived up to it

And there are so many more reasons why 2017 is a GOATED year

OP really celebrating Thug and Future ending their legendary runs with mainstream mid

But he's bigging up Jaden Smith. So mid must be his bag.

plus legendary hits like GUMMO, magnolia and the race

IMO the 2010s was a pretty weak decade for hip hop. But 2017 was a pretty good year for the decade

The quality is debatable (despite everybody agreeing his mixtape run prior is superior).

The mainstream tag is not. FUTURE and HNDRXX both went #1 in successive weeks and had like 8 singles between them.
