I feel you. I wasn't able to get the black pair when they originally dropped online. During Art Basel, both cws released in the "reprised" version with the Joker branding at a local store. I lined up for them s***s but my size in the blacks was sold out by the time my number was called so I settled for the gray pair. After both pairs dropped on the official NB site the price tanked so I was finally able to get the black pair for ~$30 over retail
