presumably they just run a version of the algo in house and look for users that follow the betting behavior that occurs on their leg of the trade

literally just buy huge drops or short if there's some crazy pump and hold for 1 hour+ if the trade runs you hold for as long as it goes

i wouldn't obsess about thinks like that for the most part
tbh there's so much technology progress that causes deflation and productivity gains you can understand why government leaders think inflation is 'low'
