they do tho. you can see how effective it is just by looking at the bruins game after the boston bombing. the people rally together around the anthem. unity, all in this together type stuff. now realize the historical context of it being played at sports games is one of being played during the world wars, back up again during vietnam and then now, when we have been at the "war on terror" for nearly two decades
