1. it is possible to simulate consciousness
2. technology will continue to improve endlessly
3. there isnt a great filter that wipes out any civilization before it can reach an advanced enough stage to simulate a universe
4. these civilizations want to run simulations
5. if the previous 4 assumptions are true, then there are likely a boatload of simulations, increasing the chances that you are part of one by a lot, almost guaranteeing it since the vast majority of all life to ever exist at that point would be simulated (compared to the number of actual living beings in the universe)
