the woman who's primarily behind the push, Fowler Arthur, seems to be very inarticulate and is making a short-sighted decision about the bill itself (Ohio House Bill 327)

the bill is a strange clone amalgamation of anti-CRT bills which we've seen in places like Florida, and while its pretty standard more generally, it has this addition to it;

what seems to have happened is this woman has no concept of articulation and said something along the lines of "when it comes down to teaching controversial atrocities like i don't know, the current situation with russia and ukraine, or even something as terrible as the holocaust..." and it was extrapolated from there that the point of the bill was specific to nazism? i somewhat understand what the woman in a vacuum is trying to say about schools not having the adequate tools to teach controversial/divisive historical events (modern like Russia/Ukraine or otherwise) but the bill has nothing to do with that, it's clearly a CRT bill, so she dug her own grave by even thinking to mention something like that, as if she thought she'd be able to re-focus the discussion to take discourse off of CRT
