The amount of brain dead takes student loan forgiveness has caused over the past few days is hilarious

the GOP & GOP-aligned sycophants have no idea how to react when there's good policy on the table because so much of their rhetoric is just based around saying why their opposition is bad (i.e. it's woke, it's anti-parent, they want your kids, etc.). That rhetoric connects with a lot with some peopel but the minute Dems actually do something (which is rare), the GOP loses their mind because they can't process arguing with actual policy.
This - to a small degree - happens inversely (Dems ragging on Trump rather than real policy, "vote for us or fascism", etc.), but they're lucky a small bit that the GOP is the anti-policy party, so they're very rarely faced with this situation (it did however similarly happen when Trump sent out stim checks which was hilarious to see).
anytime there's actual real policy on the table, regardless of how agreeable it is, it always exposes what the pundit class really thinks of politics
