He's saying that $5.5 bill was put towards building the infrastructure to make private space travel possible which are jobs in a number of different fields vs going towards taxes vs the outrage truly wasteful spending should receive

That seems like a huge strawman though. No one (collectively) really cares about the amount of money specifically in terms of a hyper specific amount for a certain venture; they care about the overall holistic fact that Bezos pays almost no taxes on ridiculous amounts of wealth and vastly abuses tax laws and loopholes through Amazon and other corporations. If people do care about this very specific example of spending large amounts of money it’s just a small section on Twitter which it seems very stupid to address. It seems like an out of touch comment which addresses a small dumb criticism rather than the actual topic making people angry
