slavery is not that bad, it's just a part of life. has always existed, still does and always will. it just expresses itself differently now, mostly in the form of debt.

at least slaves back then had guaranteed housing, basic community and sense of belonging, basic food and a stable living situation! slaves now (people deeply in debt trying to pay it off working 3 jobs, chronically poor people) don't even get that alot of times.

of course slavery is not IDEAL. but in the past most people became slaves through becoming so indebted to someone that they had to indenture themselves and their family to pay it off. or because of war. all races of men have enslaved other men. part of the fabric of humanity.

none of this was for black people btw. slavery is a MUCH broader issue than black people in America. I'm talking about all of human history.
