is it legal to shift both your feet if you catch the ball with both feet on the ground?

Given that neither foot comes off the ground when you shift your feet

Ex:

Melo catches the ball in the elbow area and has both his feet on the ground upon the catch, he has not established a pivot. If his feet were pointed towards the sideline on the catch, would he be able to square his feet to the basket or is that a travel?

if he catches it and one foot hits the ground first clearly, Im pretty sure that becomes the pivot

but if it isn’t clearly established he could move only to make it his pivot I think if that’s what u mean

So if his feet stay on the ground but he shifts em it’s still a travel?
